Last Friday in January!

Today we headed over to Aunt Kiki's house for a play date. We hadn't been over there since before Christmas! So the kids had fun playing together with all the new toys! Especially with the new Elmo Kitchen! We made grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch and later we made some homemade oatmeal cookies with lots of yummy cinnamon! The kids loved them (and the mommies too)! The kids were worn out by the end of the day. Luke took a nice nap and Elle took a nap in the car on the way home.

I had 2 sales in my Etsy store today! I was also featured in a blog about pinks and dots! Check it out: http://onthedotcreations.typepad.com/onthedotcreations/2009/01/-tickled-pink-.html

She featured my child's apron! I am hoping it will sell before the new CPSIA law goes into place on 2-10-09!

Tonight I hope to able to run out to get some more ribbon for my shop!

I just want to add a quick but very sincere Congratulations to Rob Oakley for getting a new job at Illinois State University! He will be in the IT department! I know he is happy to be out of the factory he was working for (also in the IT dept) But he learned a lot there and can be thankful for that! Good Luck and many happy years at your new awesome job! Congrats Rob! :)

Winter Blahs

I am so ready for spring to come this year. While I do enjoy seeing the pretty snow on the ground I am ready to work in my new yard. I did happen to catch these cute morning dove couples hanging out on my picket fence this morning. I better get used to spring being awhile away yet...it is only the end of January so we still have at least 2 months left of winter. Maybe if we are lucky we will get a few nice days sprinkled in here and there.
John is closer to the basement remodel getting done. He has a good amount of the drywall up. I'd say over 1/3! He did not get to work on it last night though since I had my lab and science class from 5-8:15pm. Hopefully tonight he can get some work done. I can't wait to post the before and after pictures! That will be awhile yet!

A Regular Day

I watched Autumn for the morning while Adam and Megan worked. Adam drops her off in the morning and Meg picks her up after lunchtime. Ellen and "Abu" always have fun playing together. Today they played with Little People. They love to look through the bucket of all the little characters. John came home for lunch today and the girls were happy to see him! Autumn was giving him fluttery eyes!

John has been working on the basement remodel for a couple months now. He has torn out all the old carpet, walls and lighting. He installed a raised floor for insulating purposes and tonight he started on the new drywall! As you can see Ellen is helping him with the drill! He already has several pieces of drywall up and he just started an hour ago! Yea! I can't wait to be able to enjoy that area downstairs! I am dying for a fire in the fireplace!

Update!

I am going to start blogging about the Etsy purchases I make. I can't wait to start talking about the items I buy there! I always find such neat things!

I really have been doing well in my Etsy store! I have 116 sales in less than 6 months! I think that pretty good! I added ribon headbands to my store and they are a hit! I have several repeat buyers and tons of new ones! It has been fun and I have been so busy in December! I need to find time to make more dresses so when spring comes I will be stocked up!

Ellen is talking so much now! She asks questions, talks in little sentences, and is turning 2 in few weeks! Wow!

We are happy in our new home! It is nice living on this quiet road. having only a couple neighbors. Although we do miss Minier, we plan on moving back there some day.

We are remodling our basement right now. I can't wait for it to be finished! It will be so nice to have that area for TV/movie watching and for Elle to play in.

My new business!

So, I started making dresses for Ellen. And it got to the point wear she was never going to wear all of them! With me always looking for ways to make money and start a business, I thought I should start selling them!! I remembered Etsy because my older sister Rebecca always bought us such neat handmade items from that website. So I started my own!!

I sell ruffle top and original pillowcase dresses. Along with skirts and ruffled socks! I have been in business for just over a month and I think I am doing great! :) I hope it keeps up!

Visiting the Oakley's

Yesterday we went up to Hudson to see Aunt Kimmy and Cousin Luke. We watched the kids play. They are actually interacting a lot now! They were even fighting over Ellen's bottle. Ellen was drinking it while playing and Luke came up and pulled it from her mouth. Luke tried to drink from it but Ellen kept pulling it away! It was a tug-of-war fight!! They were both squealing and whining! It was pretty funny!
Tonight we are having our "Valentines Day"! Since i am in school on Thursday nights... We are making a nice dinner for Daddy and exchanging gifts! Should be fun!!! Ellen even has a Valentine shirt to wear from Old Navy! LOL

Creative Ellen

The other night at dinner Ellen discovered bananas are sticky enough to put on her face and they will stay. She placed each of these bananas on her face. She was making herself laugh because she knew she was being funny! Needless to say she needs to have a bath after almost every dinner now! Daddy washes the dishes and I wash the baby! Ha, ha!
